25 Sustainable and Inspiring Projects Highlighted in 2025

On January 20, 2025, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, the Sustainable Construction Observatory held a meeting with key players in the sector. The goal was to explore the role of construction in the face of major global challenges. Resource management, access to clean energy, equity and inclusion, well-being of the population – four experts shared their views on these topical challenges. Useful analysis when shaping a more resilient and healthier future.
We selected 25 of these projects, across 20 countries, which showcase major advances in comfort, energy performance, resilience, renovation and technical innovations, as well as social impact and new construction methods.
These projects embody the specificities of their local context while also reflecting a shared global dynamic. They also illustrate a central challenge that has emerged: adapting to climatic hazards and making our buildings more resilient.
